HANG WITH THOSE WHO MAKE YOU SEE LIFE DIFFERENTLY
You know how they say that life if full of just little moments of bliss? Its not about the big, grandiose things...its about the little moments. This evening was filled with just such little moments here at Wind Walker. We love sharing this ranch with folks. Tonight we were able to facilitate in the celebration of a beautiful 15 yr old girl coming of age...they call it a quinceanera, pronounced {kinsea nera} It was my first experience with such a celebration...and it filled me with awe and wonder. I love learning about other cultures and knowing that this old lady can still learn a thing or two. I wish we could co-mingle the good traditions found in the unfamiliar more often. Its lovey to see a young women celebrated and honored. Its lovely to see people get all gussyed up. Its a beautiful thing when the young and old can party together, when the kiddos get their first horse and buggy ride, and get dressed up too.

And its wonderous when the weather cooperates. Even our evening thunderstorm scooted by us this night and the clouds and sunset were show stoppers. Whew!! There are a lot of firsts at Wind Walker. Its a special place we have here. And the one that touched my heart this day was when I scooped up a small gopher snake that was causing quite a stir and a distraction for party guests.. which then in turn instantaneously caused yet another disturbance among the wee ones...I became a piped piper of sorts..but with a snake not rats! (I can thank my brother and my mother for my lack of fear in the presence of snakes. It seems we always had a snake in the house when I was growing up.) So tonight I was swarmed by small children who had never been so close to a snake, and who had never had a chance to touch one and handle it. The squeals, the awe, the wonder, the questions, the fears that were overcome...just a little...by just a few minutes of time with a snake. Their faces tell it all!!
